The Best of Nest
May 15, 2013
Think about what makes your home feel like home …
It could be the fine art hanging on the walls, or the carefully-selected antiques that adorn your living space or the framed Tim Tebow poster hung over your bed.
If it’s either of the first two options – but definitely not the third one – we’ve got just the place to find your next domestic acquisition.
Its name is Nest.
Collecting antiques has long been a passion for owners Marcelo Outeiro and Mark Robertson (who began collecting when he was just 14).
They recently opened Nest in order to share that enthusiasm with their fellow Richmonders.
The antiques they sell range in age and come from a variety of sources, including estate sales, auctions and items sold on consignment.
Outeiro explains, “You never know what you’re going to get. You’ve just got to put it together and make it look good.”
In addition to good-looking antiques, you’ll find local products like art by Frank Heller and jewelry made by Elizabeth Nesbit, Wendy Williams and Outeiro himself.
And, if you’re overwhelmed by your many options, you’ll always find a willing adviser at hand. Outeiro says, “The two of us are very passionate, and one of us is always going to be here.”
Best of all, they plan to rotate the collection frequently, so you have a good excuse to stop by and see what’s new.
Nest is located at 3404 Semmes Ave. They’re open Mon. through Sat. 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sun. 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, take a trip to their Facebook page.
